About

The mission of the Northwest Card Association (NWCA) is to provide education, industry exposure, and developmental opportunities for organizations operating within the plastic cards sector. The NWCA seeks to empower Association members to remain competitive, to further the advancement of electronic payments, to remain up-to-date on all changes to laws, regulations and best practices, and to promote fellowship and cooperation amongst NWCA members.

Membership is open to representatives of financial institutions and payment vendors operating in the Pacific Northwest as well as Northern California and the Rocky Mountain Region.

Mary Nyman

Mary Nyman has worked in the EFT and Financial Institution space for over 30 years – this includes credit union branch operations, IT, Payments & both the issuer and acquirer side of card processing.

Additionally, she has worked with several key industry processors over this time including The Exchange and CO-OP. This experience affords a well-rounded perspective of the industry and industry direction.

The experience and the contacts she made over the years provide key input and direction for our NWCA meetings.

Audrey Stephens

Treasurer

Audrey Stephens joined Central Willamette CU in 1996.  As a member of the Leadership Team she is responsible for providing valuable insight, information, ideas and expert opinions necessary to support the strategic direction and business plan objectives.  In her time at the Credit Union she spent several years working in and overseeing the Retail branches.  In this position she was responsible for management oversight of the Branch Managers and the Virtual Branch Manager.  In her current role she is responsible for supervising Operations, ATM Management, Project Management, payments, ACH processing, Share draft processing, plastic cards for both credit and debit, disputes and IRAs.  She focuses on the utilization of technology and responsible for the development and updating of processes and procedures to maximize the efficiency within these areas.

Lesley Hastings

Lesley’s partnership philosophy starts at the top and incorporates all levels at the FI’s she works with. “I want to meet with the CEO, the executive team and various other team members within the FI,” she states. She believes this is an important step to understanding the FI’s plan and strategy for their organization’s future.  Working for Vantiv also exposes Lesley to many of the FI’s Nationwide, which she has built solid relationships’ with.  Lesley also brings a group of experts with her from Vantiv, who have a vast knowledge of the Card industry.

Prior to joining Vantiv Lesley worked as a Director of new client partnerships at TMG and as National Account Executive for Western Union a worldwide leader in Money transfer and Payment Services. She worked in several different job functions most recently as a Trainer and Sales Executive.  She managed a nationwide territory and worked with several of the largest FI’s in the Northwest.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her two young children and on the golf course in Oklahoma.

Brandie Binfield

I began my banking career in 2018 and soon moved into merchant services/treasury management area where I fell in love with the payments industry. In September of 2019, I started a new adventure at STCU as their first Merchant Service Officer and have spent my time helping to build out the agent bank program. I work closely with our vendor, product management team and the frontline to best launch a safe and profitable program for our members. I enjoy this ever-changing industry that brings constant learning and the ability to help members streamline their payment rails as well as keeping on top of risk and fraud management .

My career path has also allowed me to witness and learn about the darker side of payments and how fraudsters are always creating new ways of stealing data and money from our customers/members. This leads us to explore and refine new and creative tools to protect our customers/members/organizations from being victimized. The NorthwestCA is a great resource for us to come together and help each other by sharing our knowledge and experience and what resolutions we are taking to resolve these vulnerabilities.
